'Give 10' Volunteer Initiative
The "Give 10" campaign, which fully engages our schools by investing valuable human capital, aims to increase widespread support for lifelong learning by placing myriad new volunteers in Lexington's schools. Fayette County Public Schools challenges community, business, faith-based, and college organizations, families, retirees, and other education advocates to volunteer 10 hours a month to make a difference in students' lives!

You can sign up as an individual or as a team – just let us know how you want to help, and we’ll match you with a school looking for the skills you offer. Whether you can give an hour a week or an hour a year, FCPS has lots of ways to get involved! Examples:
- Volunteering in the REAL Read program
Mentoring and tutoring students (small group or one-on-one)
Chaperoning field trips
Supervising on the playground
Helping with extra-curricular activities
Assisting with book fairs, festivals, and other school events
Our volunteer program plays a major role in developing a nurturing community that has a powerful and positive impact on student outcomes. Your willingness to share your time and talents is greatly appreciated.
* State law requires a background check for all adult volunteers in public schools every four years. Human Resources in FCPS keeps a list of approved volunteers; for questions, call Veronica Murrell at (859) 381-4345.
