Children who lost their free and reduced-price school meals can now receive funds to spend on food at home through the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program.
Course completion requirements
We have developed an action plan for students to continue working throughout the weeks that we are off site, being that students will continue to have full access to Odysseyware and access to all staff. Success Academy students are expected to complete a certain amount of work and/or actively working for a specified amount of time (with completed and passed assignments, quizzes, and/or tests) within a week’s time (being Sunday through Saturday evening).
Group messaging for Success Academy families
We are always trying to create ways to keep our families informed of what's happening at Success Academy and doing it in a timely manner. Many of the students are already using the Bubble app to communicate with their teachers. We have now created a link for families to communicate with the director, Dr. Ross.
You can now get the app to join, using the group code BNZBDP.
Permanent home in the works
Extensive renovations are underway on the former Imani Baptist Church at 1555 Georgetown Rd., which will be the permanent home for Success Academy. For now, the program is housed in the former Linlee Elementary School at 2420 Spurr Rd. The district expects some 80 Success Academy students and about 600 from the unrelated STEAM Academy to move into the renovated building, tentatively in January 2021. Follow the progress here:
