Eastside excels at SkillsUSA Kentucky conference

Dozens of Eastside students participated in the 2019 SkillsUSA Kentucky Leadership Conference and Skills Championship April 10-13 in Louisville. Following are the top results. The first-place winners qualify for SkillsUSA nationals this summer, except in contests listed as state only.


  • Action Skills: first place, Kevondre Bledsoe; third, Cheyenne Combs 
  • Airbrush Design: second, Kelli Bevins 
  • Extemporaneous Speaking: third, Mackie McDowell

  • 3-D Visualization/Animation: second, Brady Cowing & Destani Stephens 
  • Audio/Radio Production: first place, Calla Monroe & Jacob Sams; second, Gavin Allen & Malachi Woodard
