Agriculture program receives Rising Sun grant

Carter G. Woodson Academy’s agriculture program, one of the newest in Fayette County Public Schools, has received a one-time Rising Sun grant of $5,000 from the Kentucky FFA Foundation. The funds will help students participate in leadership conferences, career development events, and other FFA opportunities.

The money will also cover a classroom set of FFA jackets that students can wear to competitions. “Just to see Carter G. Woodson across the back of the jacket will be a huge source of pride for our students,” said ag teacher Jacob Ball.
