FFA national convention

Locust Trace chapter saluted at 2020 National FFA Convention

The FFA group at Locust Trace Agriscience Center was named a National 3-Star Chapter during the 2020 National FFA Convention, an Oct. 27-29 virtual event involving over 100,000 FFA members, advisers, and supporters. Every year, Kentucky FFA salutes the top 10 percent of chapters in the state and sends them up to national, where they receive a 1, 2, or 3-star rating. This assessment indicates how well a chapter has improved operations by growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture.

In other FCPS highlights, Ani Sutherland of Leestown Middle School placed in the Top 12 in the Food Products and Processing category of the FFA Agriscience Fair. Though COVID-19 restrictions canceled the career development and leadership development events, Locust Trace had qualified to compete in Conduct of Chapter Meetings and Veterinary Science.
