Important Message from Mr. McMillin

BSHS Families and Community Partners,

I want to first thank each and every one of you for the support you have given to The Academies of Bryan Station High School this past school year.  I started as an interim principal four years ago after superintendent Manny Caulk asked me to transform the academic, behavior, and overall school culture at Station. This school and community rallied around the mission and vision we set to transform education, and it has been an amazing journey watching students discover their passions as they have explored both career and college pathways in our academies. None of this would be possible without the commitment of our college and business partners and YOU, our parents/guardians.

I am writing you to today to let you know that I will be stepping down as principal of Bryan Station effective July 1st; but I won’t be walking away from “The Pride of the North Side” anytime soon.  I will be moving to the role of Chief of High Schools with Fayette County Public Schools and will be working with each high school to meet the mission and vision they have set for their students’ success.  Our focus on graduating students’ career and college ready has led to some pretty amazing results the past four years, and I am excited that I will get to continue to be a part of Station’s journey going forward.

Again, thank you for all of the love and support you have given to our faculty, staff, and students. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Bryan Station High School.

Respectfully,

James McMillin-Principal
