The 2019 Congressional Art Competition's overall winner from the Sixth District is Claire Skubik-Peplaski of Bryan Station High School. Her entry, “Entomology: North American Rhopalocera,” will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a year. Claire is also invited to a June reception in Washington, D.C., with winners from each congressional district. In third place was Bryan Station’s Ellyse Chula with “Flora no Fauna,” which will hang in U.S. Rep. Andy Barr’s Lexington office. The Sixth District received 25 entries from eight schools. Barr congratulated the young artists at an April 17 reception in the President’s Room of the Singletary Center.
