Greetings!

I am Lisa Rudzinski, your child’s Homeland Security/Law Enforcement Program teacher at Eastside Technical Center. This communication is being sent to you as an update and overview of our class’s Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) plans for at least the next four weeks.

NTI-2DL begins Wednesday, August 26, 2020.  I am sure your child has been, or will so be, receiving lots of information regarding how their learning journey will continue during this unprecedented time.  My goal for your child, during this time, is for them to be healthy at home, engaged in their lessons, and mentally strong.  I have worked tirelessly to develop lessons and content that will be interesting, relevant, and fun. 

A few items to cover:

1—As I am working both at school and remotely, the best way to contact me is via this email address. 

2 – My normal classroom hours will be from 8:00 AM until 3:30 PM but I will be available at other times by request.

3 – Students will be receiving assignments on a weekly basis.  Weekly assignments will be posted to CANVAS on Monday at 8:00 AM and will be due no later than the following Sunday, at 7:00 PM. I will be using CANVAS, our online learning management system, for this.  I will follow up with your child to ensure they know how to access.  If you would like to gain access to CANVAS to observe your child’s work, please contact me and I will provide you with instructions.

4– I will hold video class meetings on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays-most weeks.  Once the schedule is finalized i will share with both students and parents/guardians.  It is very important that your child attend these meetings as I will address important information, cover upcoming instruction/assignments, and, most importantly, check in with them.  I plan to use ZOOM as my class meeting platform.  If your child has a conflict, they need to notify me ahead of time so that your child and I can arrange a separate time to video conference.
