Fayette Co Public Schools becomes KY's first national Green Ribbon School recipient for its student-driven achievements in environmental literacy, student/staff wellness and environmental impact.  FCPS It's About Sustainability launched a 5-yr Sustainability Strategic Plan in January 2020 to ensure diverse stakeholder input in district priorities and strategies, including diverting funds away from utilities back to the classroom, development of NGSS-aligned, STEM-infused environemntal education and reduced landfill waste.
