Farm to School Challenge Pilot

New in 2019, Sandersville Elementary & Rosa Parks Elementary partner with Fayette Co Farm to School to pilot a weeklong Farm to School Lunch Challenge including

  • Locally sourced café line items daily
  • Visits from farmers of locally procured items
  • Incentives and rewards for grade level with highest engagement
  • I Tried Local Food Today stickers

Sandersville Elementary and Rosa Parks Elementary saw 15% and 23% increases in student participation in the school lunch program AND enjoyed local food items like Cheesy Chicken Etoufee, apple chips, peppers, blueberries, lettuce and more.
