Summer Ignite

We are excited to announce the dates for this year’s summer enrichment program! Summer Ignite will provide rigorous and engaging learning opportunities for our (PreK -8) students, including topics to address physical and social-emotional health, allowing for continued progress toward key standards in preparation for the next school year.

This year’s program for middle school students will feature two sessions:

Session 1: June 12-29*, Monday-Thursday

Middle school hours: 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

In a hub model, 4 middle school campuses will host students for summer learning, though students from any FCPS middle school will be considered for participation. Students selected to participate will attend based on their family’s address.

Focus areas will include extra support in reading and math for grades 6-8. Programming will also include Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons as well as fine arts and STEM enrichment activities.

Students will attend a hub site based on their family's address. Multiple factors went into consideration for hub sites, including but not limited to, geographical location, transportation, and qualification for summer meals. Breakfast and lunch are provided daily.

*No classes on June 19 in celebration of the Juneteenth holiday.

Hub Schools
•    Leestown Middle School

Session 2: July 31 – August 3, Monday – Thursday

Transition Week
The second session is designed for students transitioning to kindergarten, sixth, or ninth grade. Occurring at each school, this session will focus on highly engaging activities to foster the inclusion and belonging of transition-grade students. Breakfast and lunch will be served.
