Suggested summer readings
Incoming Southern Middle school 6th graders are expected to read one book over the summer. This can be a student and/or parent-selected book. Books should be at the 5th or 6th-grade reading level, or an appropriate Lexile for each student. The following books are suggestions (not requirements) for summer reading:
