I am so excited to be a part of the best!

Ginny Harney, 5th grade teacher

Hi! My name is Ginny Harney and this is my tenth year teaching. I am originally from Elizabethtown, KY, but have called Lexington home for nearly 18 years.  I graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2009. I have a Bachelors in Business Administration and Elementary Education.  I received my Masters in Teacher Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands. I am married to Jonathan Harney who is a Physical Therapist here in Lexington. We have a four-year-old daughter, Emmy Lynn, and a one-year-old son, Fisher. We also have a dog named Marley. When I’m not at school, I love to spend time with family, check out local restaurants, shops, and music, walk/run in our neighborhood or the arboretum, and cheer on our Wildcats! I have always admired the amazing work that I’ve seen and heard about coming from the Rosa Parks family and now I am beyond excited at the opportunity to be a Trailblazer!

Sarah Kimball, BeWell teacher

I’ve been a classroom teacher since 2000 and love that I now teach BeWell in Schools: mindfulness, movement, and meditation. I’m passionate about this program and eager to spread the science of breathing to students, staff, and families in our community! I also love spending time with my partner and sons exploring the outdoors!
