Alison Hubbard took the helm as acting principal at Picadome effective July 1, 2021, with 20 years of experience in education, having served most recently as professional growth and effectiveness coach at Squires Elementary since 2017. Before joining FCPS, she worked for 17 years in Montgomery County Schools, serving as district assessment coordinator, district curriculum specialist, assistant principal at Mapleton Elementary, and vice principal at McNabb Middle School, where she started her career as a math and science teacher. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in middle school math and science education from Eastern Kentucky University, and her Rank I in instructional leadership and principal certification from Morehead State University.
“Ms. Hubbard will be a great administrator for Picadome. She believes that all students can achieve at high levels and she keeps students at the center of decision making,” said Elementary Schools Chief Lisa Smith. “She is a collaborative leader with a skill set that will complement the strong structures that are currently in place. Picadome staff, students, and families will appreciate her creative ideas, enthusiasm, and excellent communication skills.”
