PLD Theatre to perform Frozen

I am incredibly proud to announce that our theatre program has been chosen as the winner of this competition  for the state of Kentucky.  We have been granted the exclusive rights to be the only school in the state who will get  to perform the full Broadway version of Frozen the Musical.  Each school submitted a proposal which included video evidence from past shows to prove how awesome we are, an evidence supported essay about how we support and encourage diversity in our program, and how we plan to incorporate the theme "Love is an Open Door" into our production.  I chose to focus on the idea of sustainability in the theatre and a love of our environment. We will be creating the ice castle for our set from abandoned water bottles and other trash.  We will recycle old wood from previous productions, and we will upcycle our costumes from items we have and thrift store raids.  Maybe the coolest thing will be the transformation into Elsa's ice dress which will also be made of water bottles.

I have known for years that our program is amazing, but it is really wonderful to get recognized like this on a national level.

Long live Queens Elsa and Anna!
