During this time of distance learning, it is important to maintain a classroom community. Mrs. Futrell's kindergarten class did just that! Together, they completed Earth Day drawings during a regularly scheduled class Zoom meeting. Even though they are in different homes and spaces, they were unified and engaged while meeting as a class. Mrs Futrell said, "We discussed the purpose of Earth Day and why it's important to keep our Earth clean and healthy. While the students saw this activity simply as something 'fun', we still worked on skills, such as: following directions, listening skills, fine motor skills, and last but definitely not least, social skills." Mrs. Futrell is one of Mary Todd's fantastic kindergarten teachers who makes every learning activity engaging and fun for students.
