Wintry forecasts, severe weather, or poor road conditions can prompt FCPS to change routines or daily schedules in the district. Depending on the conditions, FCPS has these choices:

1. Use NTI (non-traditional instruction) - if severe weather conditions appear to be imminent and safe travel is highly doubtful

2. Cancel school (If weather conditions are not predictable and school is canceled, i.e. “snow day”)

3. Delay the start of school or dismiss school early
