Locust Trace leads way in Kentucky FFA honors at 2021 convention

At the 2021 Kentucky FFA State Convention in early June, Locust Trace AgriScience Center was among 57 chapters to earn the Gold Emblem award for outstanding accomplishments during the 2020-21 school year. Following are other convention highlights. 

High school division (all from Locust Trace)

Career Development Events

  • Veterinary Science – 1st place (Kenzie Burdine, Mia Clemmons, Destiny Eversole, and Bailey Jorgensen); high scorer: Destiny Eversole

Impromptu Speaking

  • Dairy – 2nd place to Molly Lewis
  • Goat & Sheep – 1st place to Caroline Groth
  • Small Animal – 1st place to Haivan Stroman 

Leadership Development

  • Agricultural Issues – 1st place (Mia Clemmons, Destiny Eversole, Caroline Groth, Molly Lewis, Kennedy Little, Haivan Stroman, and Reine Watson)
  • Extemporaneous Speaking – 3rd to Elyssa Spiggle
  • Prepared Public Speaking – 2nd to Kennedy Little 

Proficiency Awards

  • Equine Science – 3rd place to Lillian Crouch
  • Veterinary Science – 1st place to Annika Weaver
