Child Nutrition monitoring shortages that might affect menus

The Child Nutrition staff in Fayette County Public Schools is closely monitoring supply chain shortages that are impacting school cafeterias across the country. FCPS students and families might see menu changes or substitutions if certain ingredients are scarce, but the district does not anticipate any shortage of food.

"Although our team is working diligently to source food items and placing orders well in advance, our vendors and distributors are not always able to get things from their suppliers," Superintendent Demetrus Liggins said in his Nov. 9 weekly COVID-19 message. "Please be assured that we have plenty of food and will be able to continue providing hot, fresh meals to our students each day."
