FCPS extends application period for new Carter G. Woodson Prep

Fayette County Public Schools has extended the application window through midnight Feb. 8 for the Carter G. Woodson Preparatory Academy, which opens this fall for 2021-22. The STEM-focused curriculum (science, technology, engineering, and math) will be taught through the lens of African-American history, culture, and culturally responsive teaching and learning strategies. This new school, which will first be housed in the renovated and historic Johnson Elementary building on Sixth Street, will initially admit 150 boys in grades K-2, adding a level each year through fifth grade.
