Food service resumes with meals pickup twice a week

For second semester in Fayette County Public Schools, the district’s Child Nutrition staff will modify food service according to whether students are still learning from home or return for in-person instruction on campus. Classes via NTI/2DL resume on Thursday, Jan. 7.

Monday, Jan. 4 – Staff preparation for districtwide food distribution

Tuesday, Jan. 5 – Meals pickup (2 days) from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 6 – Meals pickup (3 days) from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

  • List of pickup locations -- Note the winter hours have changed. Schedule adjustments are made for holidays and inclement weather.

Families can receive food bags at any site regardless of student enrollment, but please limit pickups to one per household so there is enough food for everyone in need. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has allowed school districts to use the national waiver for expanded meal service for children and families. Therefore:

  • Free breakfasts and lunches are available for anyone age 18 and younger.
  • Children do not have to be enrolled in Fayette County Public Schools.
  • Children do not have to be present for meals pickup.
