Equity Council Committee seeks to fill two community-based seats for 2-year term
The Equity Council Committee (ECC) monitors and advises the Fayette County Board of Education on issues of fairness, access, participation, and removal of barriers that might keep any student from learning or any teacher from teaching. As the new year begins, the ECC needs to fill two community-based member seats with individuals who have demonstrated a commitment or contribution to educational excellence and equity, human rights, and equal opportunities, and/or those seeking to create a collaborative learning culture and environment in Lexington’s schools, district, and community in support of student success for all. The two-year term runs January 2020 through December 2022.
Applications are also available at the Lexington Public Library. The deadline is close of business on Friday, Jan. 17. Email completed applications to Darryl D. Thompson, equity officer in Fayette County Public Schools. For questions, please call (859) 381-4710.
