TCHS Wrestler Wins Her Fifth State Championship

Trinity Gottler of Tates Creek High School brought home a fifth consecutive title in the 2023 Girls’ Wrestling State Championships, sponsored by the Kentucky Wrestling Coaches Association. Competing this season at 165, Trinity was named Most Outstanding Wrestler for the 144-285 pound classes.

The Feb. 4 competition, hosted by Tates Creek, drew more than 250 student-athletes from 81 schools. Alicia Galindo of Bryan Station High School finished third in the 100 class as she and Trinity led the way for Fayette County Public Schools.

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s board is expected to consider sanctioning girls’ wrestling and a few other sports at its next meeting.
