Four Schools Earns Tree Campus Honors from Arbor Day Foundation
Bryan Station and Henry Clay high schools, Cassidy Elementary, and the Rise STEM Academy for Girls are among 70 schools across the United States to earn recognition through the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree Campus K-12 program.
The Arbor Day Foundation, the largest membership nonprofit dedicated to tree planting, launched this program last year to encourage educators to create meaningful opportunities for students to interact with trees.
Bryan Station, Henry Clay, Cassidy, and Rise stepped up and met these four goals:
Maintain a Tree Campus team dedicated to achieving recognition;
Create an education plan connecting students to trees and their global benefits;
Offer a hands-on experience engaging students with trees and the community;
Hold an Arbor Day observance celebrating trees within the school or the community.
