State Testing Will Close Out the 2021-22 School Year

The spring 2022 state testing window in Fayette County Public Schools, which must fall within the last 14 days of the academic year, is May 5 through May 25 for elementary, middle, and high schools. Students in other academic programs will follow the same schedule accordingly. Make-up days are marked within this span.

We urge families not to set up routine doctor’s appointments or otherwise take their children out of school during the testing window. We also encourage students to get plenty of sleep and eat healthy breakfasts so they can give their best effort!

Kentucky’s public school students participate in this annual testing, and the results are included in the state’s accountability system for schools and districts. Students in grades 3 through 8, 10, and 11 participate in Kentucky Summative Assessment (formerly known as Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress). It measures how well they are learning the material that the state requires in reading, math, science, social studies, and writing.

Please check with your school’s staff if you have any questions.
