SCAPA at Bluegrass group to sing at Carnegie Hall
Twenty middle school vocalists from SCAPA at Bluegrass and their conductor, Amanda Wells, plan to perform this summer in New York City’s prestigious Carnegie Hall. The audition-only opportunity comes through Distinguished Concert Singers International New York, which spotlights high-caliber musicians and soloists. The residency includes 2½ days of rehearsals and clinics, culminating in a June 6 performance with award-winning choral composer and arranger Greg Gilpin on the podium.
SCAPA’s vocal majors perform year round throughout Lexington, including holiday carols at senior living facilities, solo recitals in local churches, and concerts for special community events.
If you want to help with the Carnegie Hall trip, please reach out to Amanda Wells to set up a performance or a donation. The group also has a Go Fund Me campaign.
