Bryan Station’s volleyball team secured the 42nd District championship with a 3-1 victory over Frederick Douglass (25-23, 25-21, 12-25, 25-23). It was the Defenders’ first tournament title since 2011. Henry Clay had won every year since the league reconfiguration in 2012.

In the 43rd District tournament, Paul Laurence Dunbar reclaimed the title from rival Tates Creek with a 3-1 win (25-20, 21-25, 25-20, 25-16) on Oct. 20. Over the past decade, the Bulldogs lead the Commodores 6-4 in taking home this trophy.
