Rosa Parks Elementary among 2021 National Blue Ribbon Schools

The U.S. Department of Education has selected Rosa Parks Elementary, with its strong record of overall academic excellence, as a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School. One of seven honorees in Kentucky, Rosa Parks was designated an Exemplary High Performing School. It also achieved Blue Ribbon status in 2012.

"It is such an honor to be recognized. I am so proud of our students, teachers, and staff for building such a strong school community where we strive to have exemplary teaching and learning," said Principal Claudine Barrow.

The national award is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. In its 39-year history, the National Blue Ribbon Schools program has become a trademark of excellence and a symbol of exemplary teaching and learning recognized by everyone from parents to policymakers. In total, 325 public and private elementary, middle, and high schools across the country were chosen this year. For more information, please visit the U.S. Education Department website.
