FCEA presents 4 scholarships & 13 grants to educators

The Fayette County Education Association has chosen four recipients of its 2020 American Education Week scholarships: Paul Brown of Henry Clay High School, Denise Hayden of Julius Marks Elementary, Dawn Keith of The Academy for Leadership at Millcreek Elementary, and Shericka Smith of Student Support Services in Fayette County Public Schools. FCEA members working toward their Rank 2, Rank 1, NBCT, or doctoral degree may apply for the $500 award. 

In addition, FCEA has provided $250 grants for classroom supplies and activities to these 13 educators: 

  • Katherine Blackard, Paul Laurence Dunbar High School
  • Kristen Blaker, Arlington Elementary
  • Tionna Dudley, Brenda Cowan Elementary
  • Valerie Hairston, Winburn Middle School
  • Dawn Keith, Millcreek Elementary
  • Kathleen Kiely, Garden Springs Elementary
  • Kendra King, Garden Springs Elementary
  • Laura Nagel, Coventry Oak Elementary
  • Ryan Queenan, Henry Clay High School
  • Debbie Songstad, Ashland Elementary
  • Sara Vogelpohl, Meadowthorpe Elementary
  • Emily Warren, Bryan Station High School
  • Millicent Wells, Bryan Station Middle School
