Gatton & Craft academies accept 8 sophomores for Class of 2022
The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science has accepted tenth grader Haven Romero of Lafayette High School for its Class of 2022. She will complete her junior and senior years on campus at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green and will graduate with a minimum of 60 college credit hours. Gatton provides advanced opportunities for exceptional students and prepares them for leadership roles in Kentucky.
In addition, the Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics at Morehead State University will welcome seven FCPS sophomores for its Class of 2022: Arrington Chen of Lafayette, Melissa Hannemann of Lafayette, Philip Maxson of Henry Clay, Olivia Moore of Frederick Douglass, Alayna Slone of Henry Clay, Rosa Smith of Lafayette, and Eric Turney of Lafayette. Craft accepts students who excel in science, math, and other STEM-related fields. They, too, live on campus and earn dual credit while taking college-level courses during their junior and senior years.
