FCCLA clubs excel in 2020 Region 15 STAR contests

FCCLA club members from three Fayette County schools earned kudos in the 2020 Region 15 STAR contests (Students Taking Action with Recognition) on Feb. 1 in Nicholasville.  

From Beaumont Middle School

  • Chapter in Review Display (level 1) – first place
  • Chapter Service Project Display (level 1) – first place
  • Focus on Children (level 1) – first place
  • National Programs in Action (level 1) – first place
  • Sports Nutrition (level 1) – first place 

Lafayette High School

  • Career Investigation (level 2) – third
  • Culinary Arts (level 3) – second
  • Repurpose and Redesign (level 2) – third
  • Sustainability Challenge (level 3) – first place 

Paul Laurence Dunbar High School

  • Chapter in Review Display (level 2) – second
  • Entrepreneurship (level 3) – first place
  • Public Policy Advocate (level 2) – second
  • Sports Nutrition (level 2) – second 

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is an organization for students taking Family and Consumer Sciences courses. Its members develop leadership through community service and design career projects for competitive events. The region contest winners advance to next-level competition at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference, set for March 24-27 in Louisville.
