Three senior football players among 2019 Class of the Commonwealth
The 2019 Class of the Commonwealth, an annual selection of the state’s top football-playing seniors, features three young men from FCPS: Tates Creek quarterback Luke Duby and wide receiver Miles Thomas and Frederick Douglass lineman Walker Parks.
Luke passed for a state-high 4,685 yards along with 47 TDs as Tates Creek won the district and region titles. He has signed with Cornell. His Commodore teammate Miles led the state with 1,797 yards receiving and scored 23 touchdowns. This three-star recruit has Division I offers including Louisville.
Walker, who played offensive and defensive line for Douglass, is regarded as the fifth-best offensive line recruit in the nation. He tallied 5½ sacks, 12½ tackles for loss, and 70 pancake blocks. Walker has signed with Clemson.
