Lafayette’s jazz team takes first place at state dance championships
Lafayette High School secured first-place honors in the jazz (large) division of the 2019-20 KHSAA Dance Championships and finished third in hip-hop (large). Several teams from Fayette County Public Schools qualified for the Dec. 21 state competition. Among other highlights, Henry Clay placed fourth in pom (small) and eighth in hip-hop (small), and Paul Laurence Dunbar placed ninth in jazz (small) and 10th in pom (small).
Dance is a sanctioned sport activity under the Kentucky High School Athletic Association along with bowling, competitive cheer, bass fishing, archery, and esports. For more information, please contact the school’s dance team coach.
