FCCLA members bring home accolades from 2019 National Leadership Conference

Several FCCLA members from Fayette County Public Schools earned recognition at the organization’s 2019 National Leadership Conference, which ran June 30 through July 4 in Anaheim, California, where the theme was “Believe in Yourself.” 

From Beaumont Middle:

  • Chapter Review -- gold medal to Allison Clabes, Claire Lee, and Madison Scott;
  • Chapter Service Project Display -- silver medal to Reagan Hammond and Katie Ray;
  • Environmental Ambassador – silver medal to Lauren “Gracie” Coots, Mary “Lilli” Robey, and Tess Thompson 

Lafayette High School:

  • Interior Design -- bronze medal to Caleb Harrison 

Paul Laurence Dunbar High School:

  • Illustrated Talk -- silver medal to Katelyn Fields and Amber Koenig  

In addition, Dunbar’s Logan Justice, as Kentucky’s 1st vice president for 2019-20, served on the national nominating committee. He intends to run for national office next year. 

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is an organization for students taking Family and Consumer Sciences courses. Its members develop leadership through community service and design career projects for competitive events.
