Matt, who also won the state tournament as a sophomore, received the KHSAA Mr. Tennis award this season, and he plans to continue his career at Notre Dame.

Earlier in 11th Region action, Dunbar’s Matt Halpin defeated Tates Creek’s Zach White for the boys’ title. In doubles, Evan Duggal and Arthur Sultanov of Henry Clay beat teammates Sam Clark and Wenxiang Sun for top honors.

On the girls’ side, Henry Clay’s Katie Robeson was runner-up in singles, while Lafayette’s Michayla Gatsos and Helena Weiss finished second in doubles play.
