FCPS thanks 2018-19 retirees for years of dedication and service

Fayette County Public Schools recognized its 2018-19 retirees with a dinner celebration May 17 at The Grand Reserve on Manchester Street. The participating employees have logged more than 3,165 combined years of service.

“I see a lot of smiling faces and it’s a joyous occasion,” said Myron Thompson, chief operating officer, in welcoming everyone. “Your energy, efforts, and amazing talents have served every aspect of our district.”

Stephanie Aschmann Spires, who leads the school board, also thanked all the retirees. “We’re sad to lose this wisdom and commitment, but we’re happy for your next adventure,” she said. “We hope you continue to volunteer. We welcome you to stay involved and continue to advocate for our children.”
