Lafayette pianist places third in 2019 Nathaniel Patch competition
Lafayette’s Ani Hutchens placed third in the high school division of the 2019 Nathaniel Patch Piano Competition, which is sponsored by the Bluegrass Area Music Teachers Association. Four others from Fayette County Public Schools earned honorable mention: Emily Hu and Andrew Sun, both of Winburn Middle School; William Auer of Lafayette, and Catherine Lucier of Henry Clay High School.
Sixty-two students from throughout Kentucky and Ohio competed April 20 at the Singletary Center for the Arts. The judges hailed from Eastern Kentucky University, Georgetown College, Western Kentucky University, and Miami University. This annual competition is named for a professor who taught at the University of Kentucky from 1949 through 1982. For questions, please contact organizer Nancy Stelter.
