Three pieces of LTMS artwork on display at UK hospital

Art by a student and a teacher from Lexington Traditional Magnet School is on display at UK Chandler Hospital as part of the UK Arts in HealthCare program, which spotlights works by local, national, and international artists.

Through the coming year, visitors can see seventh-grader Aasha Brown’s drawing “The Beauty Within” and visual arts teacher Jaime Giger’s photos titled “Gifts in Yonggungsa Temple” and “Love Locks” in the Pavilion H employee gallery. Their artwork will then become part of UK’s permanent collection. Giger, as the spouse of a UK employee (hospital or university), was eligible for the communitywide call for art submissions.

The 2019 pieces in a variety of media, which an outside juror selected, were framed for exhibit at UK Chandler and UK Good Samaritan hospitals. For questions, please contact UK’s Sarah Timmons at (859) 323-4446.
