BCTC Mask Requirement

All of our OMC students should have received this email from KCTC President Paul Czarapata.

Dear KCTCS Family,

As we all come back to campus it is important to provide the safest environment possible for everyone. The College Presidents and I believe the best way to do that is to mandate masks indoors for everyone – students, faculty, staff and visitors – whether they are vaccinated or unvaccinated. This indoor masking mandate becomes effective on Friday, August 6 and includes the System Office. Some KCTCS colleges have already adopted this policy, so this does not change anything for those colleges.

I know it’s frustrating to return to wearing masks, but we need to do everything possible to keep everyone safe. If you do not have a mask, your college will have some on hand. However, it is best if you provide your own as limited quantities may be available at your college.

I strongly encourage those who are not yet vaccinated to do so quickly. The sooner more people are vaccinated, the sooner our positivity rates will decrease, and we can stop wearing masks. Please respect the privacy of others by refraining from asking about an individual’s vaccination status.

If you are sick, please stay home. If you have COVID symptoms or have been exposed to COVID, please get tested.

Your college may have some additional guidelines, so watch for those coming soon.

I appreciate your understanding about this change and look forward to the day we can say good-bye to COVID.

Thanks - PC
