STLP Virtual State Champions 2020

Fayette County Schools participated in the Digital Product portion of this year's Student Technology Leadership Program's (STLP) State Championship as well as having students selected to help on Service Teams. Kudos to all who participated and congratulation to our winners!

Product Awards

 

Digital Art

An individual student used software to create original digital art. The product has no clip art or images from any other source.

1st place (K-5): Lily in a Jar by Madison Morrow of Wellington Elementary

1st place (grades 6-8): Metamorphosis by Neilsen Park of Bryan Station Middle School

2nd place (grades 9-12): Misfit by Deja Baker of Bryan Station High School 

Digital Music

An individual student created an original digital music piece using available software. 

2nd place (K-5): Crazy John by Emma Wedgworth of Wellington Elementary

2nd place (9-12): Better Days by Tanner Morgan of Bryan Station High School 

Digital Storytelling

An individual student used digital tools in any combination of music, sound effects, images, text, narrations and more to present a digital telling of their own original story.

1st place (6-8): Vegetation of Envy by Kiara Thompson of Tates Creek Middle School 

Girls Who Code

A team from an existing Girls Who Code group enters their GWC project or a compliation of their challenges.

1st place (6-12): BSMS GWC by Girls Who Code team from Bryan Station Middle School 

Graphic Design

An individual student used software to create and combine symbols, images and/or words to create a visual representation of ideas and messages. All aspects of the content should be original.

2nd place (9-12): 10-Minute Playfest by Paige Hensley of Frederick Douglass High School 

Manipulated Image

An individual student took one or more original images and combined them, changed them, added/removed items, etc., in order to create a totally new original image.

1st place (9-12): This is Me by Grace Brown of Bryan Station High School 

PSA

A team of students created a Public Service Announcement (PSA) video that markets a product or idea and was persuasive. It meets the precise time limit of 15, 30, or 60 seconds (including credits)

1st place (9-12): Captain Clean Lung by STLP team from Frederick Douglass High School

 

Service Team Members

Students selected through an interview process to help run the STLP State Championship.

Engineer

A student chosen to provide leadership and technical support at the STLP State Championship and the KySTE Spring Conference.

Media Arts

A student chosen to work with a team to create high quality short films highlighting events happening at the STLP State Championship.

Social Media

A student chosen to work with a team at the STLP State Championship to promote State events via STLP social media platforms and help announce Wall of Winners finalists.
