Social Studies Teacher Receives FCEA Scholarship

D'lon CopelandThe Fayette County Education Association (FCEA) has awarded Leestown teacher D’lon Copeland an American Education Week scholarship. FCEA members may apply for the $500 award if they are working toward their Rank 2, Rank 1, NBCT, or a doctoral degree.  

Copeland, who teaches eighth grade Social Studies, is a graduate of Tates Creek High School, and this is his second year serving in Fayette County Public Schools. At Leestown, he is also the 4-H Club sponsor and a teacher representative on the School-Based Decision Making Council. Copeland will put the scholarship money toward a master’s in Teacher Leadership (Rank 2).
