Lafayette wrestler brings home first place in state

Sophomore Brayden Giannone won the 152-pound weight class, and Lafayette High School placed ninth in the team standings at the KHSAA 2020 State Wrestling Championships, held Feb. 14-15 in Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park. Also shining for the Generals were Luke Chapman, seventh place in 132; Azariah Saunier, eighth in 145; and Zac Stray, fifth in 285. 

Lafayette had earned the most team points in the Region 7 competition and led the way as 20 wrestlers from Fayette County Public Schools advanced to the state tournament.
