Henry Clay Places Three Players on All State Girls Lacrosse Team
The Henry Clay Girls Lacrosse team placed three players on the inaugural Commonwealth High school Girls League All-State Lacrosse team.
Anna Marie Gilligan (defense), Lauren Carey (midfielder) and Eve Fox (attack) were selected as the best players from the 16-team league.
Four Lady Blue Devils were named to the East Region All Star team: Anna Marie Gilligan (defense), Lauren Carey (midfielder), Addie Lewis (attack) and Ava Hurley (attack). These girls helped lead the East team to a 13-6 victory over the West team Saturday May 11 at Frederick Douglass High School.
The All-State team was introduced following the All-Star game, before the state championship was played between Woodford County and Lafayette High School. Woodford County won the championship for the second year in a row 14-5.
