Gifted and Talented Accelerated Program (GTAP) Grades 4-8
GTAP is a unique and high-level gifted service option for students identified as academically and intellectually gifted and talented. Students are grouped together in a self-contained classroom with like-minded peers to meet their interest, needs, and abilities. Eligibility requires gifted and talented identifications in the areas of: general intellectual ability, language arts, and mathematics.
To ensure equitable access to GTAP, each elementary and middle school gifted recommendation committee will review all enrolled Fayette County Public School students at their school. Each committee determines the need for possible additional assessments, reviews gifted evidences, and identifications to refer students for GTAP. No application is needed for current FCPS students. For students not enrolled in Fayette County Public Schools, they may apply for the program through the online application. The application window is open from August 15-October 7.
To learn more about this opportunity, Fayette County Public School’s five GTAP program sites are hosting open house nights during the month of September for interested and existing families in GTAP. Your student’s program site is determined by their districted home elementary school. The FEEDER PATTERN will notate the appropriate school for your student.
Please see below further information regarding upcoming program open houses.
