Samantha Dotson's documentary qualifies for National History Day finale

The Kentucky Historical Society hosted its first all-virtual National History Day in Kentucky state contest in late April, and Samantha Dotson of Frederick Douglass High School took first place in Senior Individual Documentary for “A Race for Equality: How Cynisca Changed the Olympic Games.” Samantha now qualifies for the June 14-18 national competition, which will also be virtual because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Students' 2019-20 exhibits, documentaries, websites, performances, and papers relate to this year’s national theme, “Breaking Barriers.”
