Douglass student wins Sister Cities’ 2020 art contest

Rose Linn's entry Winner of the Lexington Sister Cities 2020 Young Artists Competition is Rose Linn of Frederick Douglass High School. She receives a $250 prize from sponsor Central Bank, and her artwork goes to Sister Cities International in Washington, D.C., for wider competition. Rose’s teacher, Jason Sturgill, also receives $250 from Sister Cities for classroom art supplies.

Sister Cities International promotes peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation – one individual, one community at a time. This year’s theme, “One World: Out of Many, We are One,” spotlights the importance of travel and exchange in achieving peace.
