Students display skills in Educators Rising Kentucky contests

Several Bryan Station students placed in the Top 5 at the 2020 Educators Rising Kentucky conference, thus qualifying for national competition this summer in Washington, D.C. Educators Rising, formerly known as Future Educators of America, is a club organization for students interested in education-related careers. Nearly 300 members from 22 schools were to gather March 12 at Northern Kentucky University, but the COVID-19 modified event allowed students to compete virtually via online meetings with judges. The 19 contests, ranging from Creative Lecture to Impromptu Speaking, highlighted students’ skills in various aspects of teaching.

Congratulations to the following from BSHS!

  • Creative Lecture (TED Talk): 1st place to Noah Langford
  • Educations Rising Moment: 4th to Natalia Gonzalez
  • Ethical Dilemma: 2nd place to Sarah Jones, Micah Walker, Josie Grant, and Carlie Mathews
  • Impromptu Speaking: 2nd place to Jeanieca Johnson
  • Job Interview: 4th to Gillian Fields
