Bryan Station hits the mark at indoor state championships

 

Bryan Station High School turned in a strong showing in the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association’s 2020 Indoor State Championships. Bailey Morgerson paced the Defenders with a first-place finish in the 3A boys’ 800 run, and Asa Tyler was runner-up in the 55-meter dash. In the 3A girls’ field, Sanaa Washington won the 55-meter dash as an eighth-grader from Leestown Middle School competing with BSHS. Following are Bryan Station’s top results. 

3A Boys 

55-meter dash

  • 2nd place: Asa Tyler in 6.84
  • 8th place: Amodeus Taylor in 6.95 

800-meter run

  • 1st place: Bailey Morgerson in 2:09.67 

1600-meter run

  • 7th place: Machumbe Esube in 5:21.62 

4x400 relay

  • 4th place to Bryan Station in 4:06.33 

Long jump

  • 7th place: ZaVeion Washington at 16-00.25
  • 8th place: Micah Walker at 16-00.25 

Triple jump

  • 7th place: Jaylen Brown at 35-04.00
  • 9th place: ZaVeion Washington at 32-07.50 

Shot put

  • 5th place: Isaac Kern at 38-10.00
  • 9th place: Giovanni Watson at 35-01.50 

3A Girls 

55-meter dash

  • 1st place: Sanaa Washington (Leestown Middle) in 7.56
  • 3rd place: Taniyah Hines in 7.84
  • 5th place: LeAndrea Hayden in 7.89
  • 7th place: Maleah McCall in 8.06 

800-meter run

  • 5th place: Lauren Wright in 2:54.05 

1600-meter run

  • 8th place: Lauren Wright in 6:25.52 

4x400 relay

  • 3rd place: Bryan Station in 4:49.61 

Long jump

  • 6th place: LeAndrea Hayden at 14-00.00 

Triple jump

  • 4th place: LeAndrea Hayden at 30-02.25 

Shot put

  • 9th place: Malak Al Abbasi at 18-09.00
  • 10th place: Cindy Ernest at 18-00.00
