New Resources for Children and Families with Death Loss

The Kentucky Center for Grieving Children and Families (KCGCF) is thrilled to announce that in early September, it will begin offering in-person peer grief support groups for children, teens, and their caregivers. Groups are free of charge and open to any 4-18 year-olds who have had a death loss of someone important to them (parents, caregivers, siblings, relatives, peers, etc.). These groups will meet every other Thursday night from 6:15-7:30 pm at Tates Creek Christian Church, located at 3150 Tates Creek Road in Lexington, Kentucky.

In addition to the in-person groups, KCGCF is also offering Peer Healing Virtual Small Groups for Teens. Each session is co-led by a trained teen and a grief professional. This is a great way for teens to experience a grief support group when they live outside of Lexington or lack transportation services. A new teen group cohort will begin in September.
