FCCLA students shine at 2021 national conference

Beaumont students participated in the 2021 FCCLA National Leadership Conference, which convened June 27 through July 2 in Nashville, Tennessee, and on a virtual platform amid ongoing COVID-19 precautions. Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is an organization for students taking Family and Consumer Sciences courses. Its members develop leadership through community service and design career projects for competitive events at the regional, state, and national level. 

The Beaumont club excelled under this year’s conference theme, “Beyond Measure.” Standouts in the STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) team contests included:

  • Gold: Professional Presentation - Katelyn Knox
  • Silver: Repurpose and Redesign - Brewer Conley, Kathleen (Katie) Ray, and Tess Thompson
  • Silver: National Programs in Action - Lilly Beall and McKay Coulter
  • Silver: Chapter Service Project - Maggie Barnes, Elizabeth Glass, and Alexis Goldie
  • Silver: Career Investigations - DeLeigha Cummins
  • Bronze: Food Innovations - Logan Albritton and Reagan Hammond

In addition, Katie Ray will serve as a national voting delegate in 2021-22.
